General Purpose Farm Duty Motors, 3 Phase

Dayton general-purpose farm-duty motors are ideal for use in high-torque applications like air compressors, augers, pumps, conveyors and other farm equipment. These 3-phase motors have greater efficiency than single-phase motors of similar specifications and do not need running / starting capacitors or centrifugal starting switches that fail or wear out. They have rolled steel frame for strength and durability and keyed motor shafts to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise for continuous duty cycles. These motors feature totally enclosed fan-cooled enclosure design for cooling the motor and protecting them from moisture. They have a rigid base for all angle / horizontal mounting. Choose from a wide range of these motors, available in power outputs ranging from 1/3 to 10 hp.

These CSA certified & UL listed permanent split capacitor motors enable quiet, smooth & soft starting performance in blowers & fans. They operate on a continuous duty cycle to deliver constant power to machinery & tools, without experiencing downtime. They include gasketed terminal access covers & slingers to protect shaft bearings. The ball bearings increase motor performance and have stud or band mounting for easy installation. Farm Duty Motors

Farm duty motors produce high starting torque and facilitate moderate starting current for conveyors, barn cleaners, compressors and manure pumps. These pre-lubricated units feature an epoxy finish for resistance against high temperature & moisture, offering smooth movement of the motor components. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these farm duty motors from brands like Baldor, Century, Dayton, Marathon Motors and Leeson. Baldor farm motors feature double-sealed bearings to reduce the frictional losses and prevent overheating. These farm duty motors are also integrated with a condensate drain valve to remove the excess moisture condensed by cooling of the motor, which may lead to corrosion of motor parts and bursting of the pump when the water freezes. Dayton farm duty motors are capable of delivering continuous-duty operations in applications like aeration fans, auger drives, grain stirrers, irrigation tower drives and crop driers. These agricultural motors feature steel frame construction for structural rigidity and withstanding heavy impact loads. They further come equipped with a totally enclosed non-ventilated enclosure with gasketed capacitor covers, junction boxes and shaft slinger for preventing the ingress of external contaminants and motor damage. Working Mechanism

Farm duty AC motors work on the principle of magnetism as they contain two fixed magnets and a coil of wire surrounding a shaft. When an electric charge is applied to the coil of wire, it becomes an electromagnet, hence generating a magnetic field. The equipped stator includes a loop of wire, solid metal axle, coil, squirrel cage made of metal bars and some other freely rotating metal parts that are capable of conducting electricity. In an AC motor, sending power to the outer coils make up the stator & the coils energise in sequence & pairs, generating a magnetic field that rotates around the motor.
