Capacitor Start General Purpose Farm Duty Motors

Dayton capacitor-start general purpose farm duty motors are used to power silo unloaders, barn cleaners, conveyors, compressors and manure pumps. They feature a totally enclosed fan-cooled enclosure to prevent motor heating and are integrated with ball bearings for less rotational friction while running at a maximum speed of 1740 rpm. These motors have green baked enamel finish for corrosion resistance, and are available in shaft diameters of 5/8 & 7/8 inches.

Dayton aeration fan motors are used in high torque installations such as silo unloaders, conveyors, compressors, barn cleaners and manure pumps, enabling them to start under heavy load conditions. They feature rolled steel frame construction to resist corrosion and have totally enclosed air over enclosures to protect against dampness & airborne particles. These UL recognised motors have a permanent split capacitor design for high efficiency and a rigid base for balanced load distribution. They include capacitor covers, gasketed conduit boxes and rubber boots over the manual protector reset buttons to seal the motor against contaminants & weather. These CSA certified motors have shaft slingers to seal & protect shaft bearings by blocking dust & other particles, while retaining lubricants. The integrated ball bearings increase motor performance and operate on a continuous duty cycle to deliver constant power to machinery & tools, without experiencing downtime. They mount horizontally or at all angle positioning and offer cradle / stud / yoke mounting types. Choose from a broad range of these motors, available in torque speeds of 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 hp.

Dayton aeration fan motors are ideal for use in high-torque applications under continuous duty cycle like barn cleaners, conveyors, manure pumps, silo unloaders and compressors. These motors have rolled steel frame for strength and durability. They feature high-torque design with a keyed motor shaft that rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise to allow the motor to start under heavy load conditions. They have totally enclosed air-over motor enclosure design for blowing air over the motor rather than allowing outside air to freely circulate through the interior of the motor, thereby cooling the motor and keeping them free of contamination. These motors have a rigid or cradle base for mounting them horizontally or vertically. They offer automatic thermal protection to start or stop the fan operation according to permissible ambient temperatures for protecting the fan motors. Choose from a wide range of these motors, available in power outputs of 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 hp.

Farm Duty Motors

Farm duty motors produce high starting torque and facilitate moderate starting current for conveyors, barn cleaners, compressors and manure pumps. These pre-lubricated units feature an epoxy finish for resistance against high temperature & moisture, offering smooth movement of the motor components. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these farm duty motors from brands like Baldor, Century, Dayton, Marathon Motors and Leeson. Baldor farm motors feature double-sealed bearings to reduce the frictional losses and prevent overheating. These farm duty motors are also integrated with a condensate drain valve to remove the excess moisture condensed by cooling of the motor, which may lead to corrosion of motor parts and bursting of the pump when the water freezes. Dayton farm duty motors are capable of delivering continuous-duty operations in applications like aeration fans, auger drives, grain stirrers, irrigation tower drives and crop driers. These agricultural motors feature steel frame construction for structural rigidity and withstanding heavy impact loads. They further come equipped with a totally enclosed non-ventilated enclosure with gasketed capacitor covers, junction boxes and shaft slinger for preventing the ingress of external contaminants and motor damage. Working Mechanism

Farm duty AC motors work on the principle of magnetism as they contain two fixed magnets and a coil of wire surrounding a shaft. When an electric charge is applied to the coil of wire, it becomes an electromagnet, hence generating a magnetic field.
