Receptacles and plugs designed specifically for hazardous environments provide protection from dust, vapours and flammable gases. The compact design and rugged construction of these units make them a well suited option for in-line connections and also provide outstanding resistance to mechanical abuse and corrosive chemicals. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these electrical devices from brands like Appleton Electric, Killark, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems and Air Systems International. Appleton Electric hazardous location receptacles provide quick-connect or disconnect operation at current supplies of 30, 60 and 100 amps with a maximum voltage rating of 600 VAC. These units mate with a compatible plug which automatically interlocks and can be plugged out from the receptacle by turning the breaker handle in ON / OFF position. They further come equipped with an interlocked circuit breaker that offers thermal time delay protection. Killark pin and sleeve plugs feature copper-free aluminium construction for durability and brass contacts with patented beryllium copper spring tensioner for exerting constant pressure.
