Exair air knife kits are used to enhance the working mechanism of air knives for cleaning, drying, cooling or blowoff applications. These kits include a super air knife, shim set, filter separator and a pressure regulator. The super air knives are used for delivering a quiet, hard hitting curtain of air across the entire length for maximum efficiency. Shim set allows increase / decrease in the force & volume of both consumed air & output airflow. Filter separators are ideal for separating water, dirt and scale from compressed air & keeping output clean while pressure regulators (w/ coupler) adjust the pressure required at the point of use and relieve undue pressures on fittings, hoses and tools. All models are CE compliant and are available in overall widths ranging between 3 and 54 inches.

Air knives are designed to produce a high-pressure laminar flow of air by producing an excellent compression ratio. They are ideal for use in cooling systems, blowing off liquid & debris from products and conveyor line applications. Exair's super air knives deliver a uniform streamline flow with 40:1 compression ratio & air inlet ranging from 8.7 to 156 SCFM, thereby producing a hard hitting blow. They feature aluminium or stainless steel bodies to handle the high compression ratios and 4 to 5 inlet ports for air intake. Depending upon at the material, they can handle airflow temperatures up to 800 deg F. Air wipes by Exair are an annular form of air knives and are designed to serve as an efficient blow-off system. These air wipes feature aluminium bodies with 1/4 inch NPT inlet ports and ring diameters ranging from 0.5 to 4 inches. These air wipes and knives are further offered in kits.
Working Mechanism
- Air knife's plenum chamber is filled with compressed air that flows through an inlet and is directed toward a slotted orifice.
- A flat surface directs the primary airflow in a perfectly straight line as it exits the thin slotted nozzle and creates a uniform air sheet around the knife's entire length.
- By entraining the room air into the primary airstream at a 40:1 compression ratio, velocity loss is minimised & force is maximised, resulting in a perfect laminar airflow sheet with hard-hitting force and reduced wind shear.
