Product Details:
Vertical hold down clampsfeature straight handles positioned vertically or perpendicularly to the base when in locked position. The movement of these handles push the clamping arms or the attached spindles against workpieces for secure clamping. These manual clamps are ideal for applications requiring repeated clamping / detaching of workpieces throughout the operations. Destaco 7-101 vertical hold down clamp is used to hold workpieces against flat surfaces during woodworking, light machining, metalworking, manufacturing & closure operations. This manual toggle clamp has carbon steel construction for heavy-duty applications and minimising damage / wear due to abrasive conditions. It features a solid clamping bar that can be cut, welded or modified to accommodate diverse application requirements. This cam action clamp handles workpieces with variable thickness to prevent frequent changing of clamps and keeping workpieces stationary throughout the operation. Raptor Supplies also offers variants of these clamps having holding capacities of 600, 1000 and 1600 lb.
Uses:
- This Destaco 7-101 vertical hold down clamp is used during welding, assembly & testing, light machining and woodworking operations in aerospace, consumer goods, transportation, automotive and food & packaging industries. It can also be used for holding and closing various applications like lids, chamber doors, covers and access doors.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What other variants of Destaco 7-101 clamp are available on Raptor Supplies?
A. Raptor Supplies offers similar manual clamps with holding capacities of 600 lb, 1000 lb and 1600 lb.
Q. How do vertical hold down clamps work?
A. Vertical hold down clamps are manually operated using vertical handles / levers to move their clamping arms. This handle movement pushes the clamping arm or the attached spindle against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid-operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
Q. What is the difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp?
A. The difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp lies in the locking position of the clamp handle. A vertical clamp handle is positioned vertically or perpendicular to the base when in a locked position, whereas the horizontal toggle clamp is positioned horizontally or parallel to the base.
Q. What does holding capacity mean in terms of clamps?
A. The term "holding capacity" or the holding force indicates the capability of the clamp to hold down the equipment, workpiece or sheet metal on assembly line or during other manufacturing processes.
Q. How is clamping force different from the holding force / capacity?
A. Clamping force or exerting force refers to the actual force that the clamp exerts onto the workpiece for holding it. The holding force or capacity provides a measure of ideal strength of the clamp, measured during the manufacturing process. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity, depending upon several factors like position of spindles in clamping bars and opposing force applied on the clamp.
Q. Which lubricant is recommended for use with Destaco clamps when servicing?
A. Coupling greases like Mobil XTC are recommended to use during rebuilding or maintenance of the mechanical clamps.
Q. Are Destaco clamps rust resistant?
A. Yes, Destaco carbon steel clamps are zinc plated to withstand & minimise wear & tear due to harsh industrial environments. Destaco also supplies stainless steel clamps for applications requiring clamping in outdoor conditions.
Q. Are Destaco clamps load-rated for hoisting and / or lifting applications?
A. No, Destaco clamps are not designed for hoisting or lifting applications to provide safe & secure operation.
Q. Does Destaco supply customised or special versions of their clamps according to applications?
A. Destaco can supply customised versions of clamps upon request. The customisations can range from a different colour of handles to the removal of Destaco logo from the clamps.
