Q. What is the difference between TEFC and TEBC enclosures?

A.

• TEFC - These totally enclosed fan cooled motors keep the motor windings clean, cool & dry, in addition to preventing frame twisting. The air comes through an outer fan at the end and blows over the motor. The air in the motor then recirculates and is cooled by heat transfer through the frame.
• TEBC - These totally enclosed blower cooled motors are configured with a fan at the opposite end of the shaft. This fan is powered separately to deliver constant airflow whether the motor is stopped or running. They are also known as totally enclosed force ventilated (TEFV) enclosures.
