How to install Gates shrink clamps?

• Choose the right size of shrink clamp for your application.Ensure that the hose to be clamped is clean.
• Slide the shrink clamp onto the hose and position it in the desired location.
• Use a heat gun or another heat source to apply heat evenly to the shrink clamp.
• The clamp will shrink and tighten around the hose as it heats up. Keep applying heat until the clamp contracts and securely grips the hose.
• Allow the clamp to cool before applying any pressure to the clamped area.
• Inspect the installation procedure and ensure that the clamp is properly positioned and provides a secure connection after cooling down.

How to apply heat while installing these shrink clamps?

• Use a standard heat gun with the setting on high.
• Do not use an open flame to apply heat.
• Adhere to the safety procedures provided by the heat gun manufacturer.
• Avoid applying heat to one spot for too long. Keep the heat gun in motion continuously.
• Move the heat gun continuously around as much of the clamp's surface as possible, ensuring at least 1/3 of the surface is covered. While PowerGrip SB clamps are highly durable, excessive heat can cause them to melt.
• Continue apply heat until shrinking is complete. The printed information on the clamp will turn grey when enough heat has been applied.
• Finally, remove the heat source.
