Frequently Asked Questions

How do you clean a Speakman shower head?

  • To break up mineral deposits, soak the showerhead faceplate in a solution of 2 parts white vinegar and 1 part water for about half an hour.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • If necessary, brush away any remaining mineral deposits.

What causes a tub spout to leak?

The most common cause of a dripping bathtub faucet is a cracked or worn washer in the stem. The washer is pushed against the valve every time the water is turned On. It wears out as a result of repeated friction over time.

Do Speakman shower heads have adjustable water flow?

Yes, Speakman shower heads use patented Anystream technology that allows infinite adjustability to blend spray settings for individual preference. These shower heads include a spray adjustment lever that provides an effortless transition of water spray pattern or intensity. This lever, when rotated / moved, can alter the flow rate or direction of the water spray, giving the user more control over the shower experience.

Are Speakman shower heads WaterSense certified?

Speakman eco-friendly models, such as exhilaration and Icon Series shower heads are WaterSense certified. WaterSense is a labelling program sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that certifies shower heads to conserve water and reduce water waste. This certification also states that the shower head must not use a flow rate of more than 2.0 gpm.

What types of shower heads does Speakman offer?

  • Fixed shower heads: These shower heads are mounted to the wall and cannot be moved or adjusted. They provide stationary, fixed spray patterns and easy controls for general use.
  • Handheld shower heads: Handheld shower heads can be removed from the mounting bracket and held in hand, providing direct water spray control to where the user wants to concentrate.
  • Rain shower heads: These units generate a gentle, drenching rain-like spray experience. They are large and flat, with numerous small openings to evenly distribute water over a wide area and are available at adjustable flow rates and spray patterns.
  • Multi-functional shower heads: These units allow multiple spray patterns, from a gentle rain-like flow to a strong, invigorating massage, allowing users to customise their shower experience.
  • Adjustable Shower heads: These shower heads allow the user to change the water flow or spray pattern to meet their showering needs. They utilise a lever / dial / other mechanism to adjust the flow rate, direction or intensity of the water spray.
