Hughes Safety STD-40K / 45G portable safety shower with eye / face wash unit provides immediate access to clean potable water when exposed to hazardous substances. It features a polypropylene cylinder and stainless steel frame that is powder coated for added protection and longevity. This emergency shower unit provides a rapid response (within 10 seconds) and flexibility of location, making it ideal for the construction, water utilities, warehouses, mining and automotive industries.

  • This self-contained emergency shower has a capacity of 114 litres and provides a constant flow of water over 1-1/2 minutes for full decontamination.
  • It has a compact design that allows easy storage and features large tires with adjustable spacing to fit through different door openings. The large & rugged tires ensure easy manoeuvring by one person from one location to another.
  • It can also fit into an A-frame with a towing hitch for long routes or difficult terrain.

Q. What is the function of the removal jacket in this safety shower unit?

A. The optional heated / insulated removable outer jacket can be retrofitted into the standard STD-40K / 45G safety shower unit, offering protection from frost or direct sunlight.

Q. How can I use the safety shower?

A. Users can activate the shower by pulling the hand lever, while the eye wash activates by lifting the lid.

Q. Why is the eye / face wash unit covered?

A. The eye / face wash station is equipped with an ABS cover that protects the bowl and diffusers from dust and debris.

Q. How to refill the unit?

A.

  • Before refilling the unit, check the air pressure. (This must be done when the cylinder is empty).
  • To refill, connect the mains water supply hose to the quick-release hose adapter that comes attached to the unit.
  • Once connected, turn the water supply on.
  • Open the inlet valve and leave for about 20 minutes or until the water stops flowing.
  • When the unit is full, close the inlet valve and disconnect the hose adapter.
  • The unit is now ready for use.
