Marathon kiln AC motors drive fans and conveyors in kiln-drying operations (such as drying wood). These TEAO motors must be mounted within the airstream. They can be used with variable frequency drives.

Working Mechanism

  • A basic alternating current motor consists of a wire coil and two fixed magnets surrounding a shaft.
  • When an alternating current (AC) charge is applied to a wire coil, it transforms into an electromagnet.
  • The electromagnet produces a magnetic field.
  • As the magnetic field is constantly changing due to rotation, it produces an electric current inside the rotor, according to the law of electromagnetism.

  • They have heat-stabilised ball bearings and high-temperature grease for smooth operation.
  • These units are suitable for inverter use, owing to the 20:1 variable torque with a service factor of 1.
  • Their extended grease tubes can be regreased for long service life.
