Features
- These sealants are engineered with mineralised PTFE into a shear-sensitive thixotropic paste that wets into and seals threaded joints.
- Their non-toxic, non-hazardous, odourless and chemically inert properties make them useful in food processing facilities and liquid, gas & vacuum services.
- They withstand a maximum temperature and pressure of 550 degrees F and 10000 psi, respectively.

Frequently Asked Questions
How to apply Formula-8 thread sealant to threaded joints (3/4 inches or larger)?
- Clean the male and female threads to remove any dirt or oil.
- Start from two threads back from the end of the male fitting and apply two wraps of a full-density PTFE tape in the direction of thread rotation, maintaining tension on the tape while wrapping.
- Apply the thread sealant to fill the threads.
- Hand tighten or use standard pipe tools to torque the male and female pieces together.
- Wipe off excess sealant.
Why is Formula-8 sealant advisable for hard-to-reach locations?
Formula-8 paste wets the thread surface and cannot be accidentally knocked loose due to obstructed access or visibility in confined spaces.
Is Formula-8 sealant corrosive?
No, the sealant is super hydrophobic and aids well in corrosion resistance.
