BWorking Mechanism
- Clean dirt or oil from the male & female threads of fittings. Clean off any material on the threads by using a brass or stainless-steel wire brush. Wipe the threads using acetone & a lint-free cloth.
- Apply two wraps of these full-density PTFE tapes in the thread rotation direction by starting two threads back from the male fitting end while maintaining tension during wrapping.
- Apply the thread sealant paste (LOX-8 Paste) liberally over the tape using a finger during large or critical connections.
- Fit & tighten the male & female pieces together. Wipe off any excess sealant.

- These oxygen-tested thread tapes are waterproof for handling wet applications.
- They are compatible with pipes made of metal or cured epoxies carrying fluids, including aggressive chemicals.
- Fluoramics 9010005 having a width of 1/2 inches is suitable for threads up to 1-1/2 inch in diameter. Fluoramics 9010010 having a width of 3/4 inches is suitable for large diameter pipe threads.
