What is the advantage of NEMA 3R and 12 enclosures?

NEMA 3R enclosures protect against falling rain, sleet and snow and are typically used for outdoor applications. NEMA 12 enclosures, on the other hand, protect from dust, dirt, oil and other corrosive substances and is designed to be typically used in indoor applications.

How to maintain Eaton Freedom NEMA enclosures?

• Clean the enclosure regularly to remove any dirt, dust and debris that may have accumulated on the surface.
• Check the gaskets periodically to ensure they are in good condition and provide a tight seal. Any damaged or worn gaskets should be replaced immediately as they are more prone to ingress of moisture.
• The hinges on the enclosure door must be lubricated periodically to ensure they operate smoothly and prevent rust or corrosion.
• Check mounting hardware periodically to ensure a tight and secure connection. Any loose or damaged hardware should be replaced promptly to prevent the enclosure from becoming unstable.
