Round Standoffs Caps

Round standoff caps protect the loose ends of female-female round standoffs and provide a finished appearance, as well as keep out the ingress of debris. The female-female round standoffs are threaded fasteners with female threads on both ends, designed to join male-threaded items. The caps are installed on one side of these standoffs for proper installation & finished appearance. These caps are used when installing artwork, awards, photographs, door hardware, signs and other decorative objects. The standoff is mounted to a surface using the anchor. The material should be placed at the proper distance from the surface by the standoff barrel. The round standoff caps, which serve as the ornamental cap to the mounting arrangement, are then sandwiched between the material and the threaded stud.

How to install a standoff cap and barrel system?

  • Determine the weight, thickness and overall dimension of the mounting material. The requirement of the length of the threaded stud depends on the material's thickness.
  • Using the holes in the material as a template, pencil in drill marks on the mounting surface and drill the anchor holes.
  • Install the chosen anchor, leaving enough external threading to connect the barrel to the exposed end.
  • The chosen barrels should be threaded onto the anchor and then hand-tightened.
  • Insert the appropriate-sized stud into the barrel. The stud size is decided by the thickness of the to-be-mounted material as well as the cap & barrel combination.
  • Fasten the caps over the material and thread them into studs.
  • Then place the material over the exposed studs.
