Friedrich hazardous location air conditioners are used to cool laboratories, offshore oil rigs, control rooms and other potentially hazardous environments. The air conditioners have tightly sealed reciprocating compressors with de-frost controls that can tolerate outdoor temperatures ranging from 45 to 130 degrees F. Powder-coated steel construction of these compressors create a noise-free robust air conditioner. The air conditioners have features like gold-plated contacts & an environmentally sealed on/off switch in the thermostat to provide corrosion resistance and slide-out chassis for easier maintenance. The enclosed units utilize a direct-wired circuit with a time-delay fuse to withstand surge current without blowing the fuse. Selected models also have Diamonblue Advanced Corrosion Protection or ElectroFin 5-stage immersion ecoat to provide extra corrosion protection in corrosive environments.
