Floor Grinders

Husqvarna manufactures industrial-grade floor grinders for repairing, polishing and grinding wet- and dry-concrete floors. These grinders comprise a gear-driven planetary head for powering grinding heads and a self-adjusting floating cover to prevent the entry of dust into the working environment. Selected models are designed as per the brand's patented Dual Drive Technology that provides an independent control of both planetary and satellite grinding heads with respect to speed and direction of rotation. To change diamond tools instantly, the Husqvarna PG-530 floor grinder is an ideal choice since it comes equipped with a RediLock tool changing system featuring a grub screw lock-in system that keeps the diamonds permanently attached to the discs, without any segment loss. These floor grinders are available in different diameters and motor speeds, on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • The diamond-segmented abrasive disc rotates at high speed across the surface of the concrete floor.
  • The diamond particles in the disc then abrade the concrete and remove a thin layer of material for a smooth & even surface.
  • The grinder is then adjusted to control the depth of cut and the aggression of the grinding process.
  • The dust created by the grinding process is then collected by a vacuum system attached to the grinder, keeping the environment clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to control the depth of cut and aggressiveness of the grinding process?

Adjust the weight, position & speed of the grinder and the abrasive disc to control the depth of cut and aggressiveness of the grinding process.

How to maintain concrete floor grinders?

Regular maintenance for a floor grinder includes cleaning the machine after each use, checking the wear on the abrasive discs and checking the condition of the vacuum system.

How to adjust the speed of a floor grinder?

The speed of the grinder is typically adjusted by controlling the flow of water to the motor using a water / flow control valve.
