- These units ensure sufficient flow of flushing fluid at a safe temperature and a spray pattern to flush the affected body parts.
- They feature control valves that operate in 1 second and remain in operation until intentionally closed. The valves deliver fluid flow for 15 minutes to minimise injury from harmful chemical exposures to the skin and eyes.
- Selected models feature plastic bowls for excellent durability and corrosion resistance and have a flip-top dust cover on each spray head, preventing entry of dust and debris.
- Guardian eyewashes with diverters converts an existing faucet into an emergency eyewash station without interfering with normal faucet operation.
- In an emergency, these units are quickly activated via a pull knob to provide an unlimited supply of potable water for rinsing the user's eyes with the faucet remains 'on' at a preset temperature.

- Remove the existing aerator or other fittings from the faucet outlet.
- Mount the EyeSafe unit to the faucet spout.
- If necessary, use 13/16 inches or an adjustable wrench to adjust the angle of the outlet spray heads to obtain the desired angle for the eyewash water flow.
- Attach the enclosed sign to the wall or backsplash behind the sink.
How to maintain the Guardian eyewashes?
- Periodically clean the eyewash aerators to assure proper water flow.
- Always place plastic float-off covers on spray heads when the unit is not in use.
What is the purpose of a thermostatic mixing valve?
A thermostatic mixing valve blends hot and cold water to a specific tepid water temperature. These valves reduce or shut off the flow of water when incoming cold water is interrupted and prevent scalding water for safety. If the incoming hot water supply fails, cold water will continue to flow through the valves all the time. They have a flow capacity of 13 gallons (49 litres) per minute at a 30 psi pressure drop.
