  • Grating Clips

Designed to fasten close-mesh bar grating to particular structural shapes when flanges are in a horizontal plane. Comply with 19W4 standards; feature a patented bottom which connects to the beam on the inside. Equipped with a hex-headed cap screw for a strong connection

About GRATING FASTENERS

The company's catalogue includes a wide range of G-clips, saddle clips and G-clip tops for temporary or permanent installation of bar gratings in numerous applications. Grating Fasteners ALGG Series G-clips are designed for attaching T-bar fibreglass grating to horizontal-facing structures using simple hand tools. These fasteners consist of three parts, including a grip jaw portion with tooth-shaped segments to contact the underside of the structural member; a stamped top which fits flat over the grating upper surface and a threaded bolt which joins the body and the top. They are made of aluminium to offer superior corrosion resistance in wet environments and can accommodate a maximum grating thickness of 2-1/4 inches.

Things To Consider

Shipping

These tops are sized to fit many grating sizes and provide more hold-down strength than standard saddle clips. They are used with self-drilling screws to offer quick installation.

GRATING FASTENERS Competitive Advantages

GP-Fastener

The GP-fastener is designed to attach devices to grating surfaces. It is suitable for situations where a single grating panel deflects downward due to traffic. This fastener combines the strength of two panels, thus sharing the load evenly and reducing deflection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these grating clips in outdoor applications?

Yes, grating clips can be used in outdoor applications. However, users should ensure that the clips have suitable construction for outdoor use, like stainless steel or aluminium and that they are protected from the elements to prevent rust or corrosion.

Are grating clips suitable for load-bearing applications?

Some grating clips provide additional structural support and can be used as load-bearing devices. However, most grating clips can only secure & stabilize gratings instead of providing structural support.

What are the different parts of the brand's grating clips?

These unique fasteners consist of three parts:

  • The top plate with a stamped indentation for enhanced beam strength.
  • Grip-jaw with two legs for connecting to the under-side of the structure.
  • The screw that is to be cut to the appropriate length for handling the grating thickness.
  • These clips work like a C-clamp and are strong enough for fastening without deforming.

How to install ALGG grating fasteners?

  • Hold the G-clip square top in hand, allowing the body portion to hang downward.
  • Fit the body between two bearing bars and lower the unit until the body of the fastener is below the grating bottom.
  • Slide the unit laterally, allowing it to fit under the structural member flange.
  • Pull upward on the top of the G-clip, holding upward force.
  • Tighten the bolt to connect the two parts with a wrench to complete the installation of the G-clip.

What type of tool is required to install G-clips?

G-clips can be installed using a standard, hand-held 7/16-inch nut driver. Other hand tools like socket wrenches or torque wrenches can also be used, depending on the fastener.

What are bar gratings?

Bar gratings are made from aluminium, steel or fibreglass and are arranged parallel to each other in a grid-like design. They offer high strength, durability & slip resistance and provide easy customisation to fit specific dimensions and load requirements. These gratings can be used in applications like flooring, walkways, stair treads, platforms and drainage covers.
